REFRESHING THE PAST

Concept - Bungalow Redevelopment
It's always a joy to breathe new life into an existing property, not only revitalizing it but also securing its future. In the case of this project, an original bungalow occupied this well-proportioned site for many years. The external structure was noticeably deteriorating, and while the interior was impeccably finished in its prime, it had begun to show signs of aging.
Our design aimed to contemporise the building while preserving its original framework. Initially, we removed a small gable from the front, extending it upward to create a striking focal point when viewed from the roadside. A rear single-storey extension, characterized by extensive glazing, was added, introducing a substantial amount of internal space. These modifications, combined with maximizing the dormer details, resulted in a modern, open-plan layout on the ground floor, with a retained study/guest suite.
On the first floor, three double bedrooms and a family bathroom were introduced. The level was crowned with a Principal Suite featuring a dressing room and ensuite bathroom. Externally, a front terrace offers an ideal seating area in the afternoon sun, while the rear garden serves as a tranquil retreat from the nearby social hub's hustle and bustle. This comprehensive rejuvenation not only breathes new life into the property but also ensures its longevity for years to come.
