PRIVATE ESTATE
New Build Sustainable Pavilion

It was a privilege to work with our client on The Pavilion to bring his visionary ideas to fruition.
The building has been architecturally designed to complement its beautiful surroundings within a private estate on the South Coast of England. Positioned in the corner of an impressive mature garden, it has been set out to run parallel to an historic wall, opposite and in view of the main residence.
The client's brief was very specific and included innovative design concepts. An air source heat pump runs the heating and ventilation system, which powers underfloor heating and eliminates the need for radiators. A minimal facade was a principal requirement and this was successfully achieved by combining oak cladding, grey porcelain tiles and a zinc roof.

So as not to have any rainwater goods visible, an internal rainwater system was designed in-house in accordance with the steel frame structure to compliment the strong contemporary facade.
The internal finish incorporates millimetre perfect shadow gap details demonstrating the skills of the workforce on site.
The Pavilion exudes light and space which flows throughout. From the ensuite bathroom fitted with high spec facilities into the bedroom, reached through oak sliding doors that compliment the internal oak clad walls, floors and pitched ceiling.
The 8m x 2.5m bespoke aluminium sliding doors open up to the interior of the Pavilion to the outside environment. In the evening the space is softly lit by recessed lighting with a central Vibia light source in the main living area.
